So you won't get lost...

County road 150/155 is near the 5 mile marker on HWY 291, about 3 miles north of the hospital on the north side of Salida.

Turn north and cross the railroad tracks. Turn immediately southeast (right) at the mail-boxes and follow the railroad tracks for 0.7 miles. You will pass Sunnyside road and a few driveways on your left. You will pass a sign announcing "CR155 ends". The road will narrow, then turn north (left) and cross a cattle guard (Happy Jack Lane - there is no street sign). If you look straight ahead along Happy Jack Lane, you will see our house.

Proceed north. It is 1.7 miles from the cattle guard to our gate. Look east to see the old Sedalia copper mine, once the largest copper mine in Colorado. The chimney just north of town was built to smelt the ore from this mine. Happy Jack Lane goes north for more than a mile and then northwest. If the road turns due west, you have gone .3 miles too far.

Lastly, if you don't look at your odometer, I will be merciless when you call me announcing that you are lost. Many in-car GPS units will tell you to turn into Sunnyside. Don't believe it.

Please Note

I have installed an automatic gate opener. Read the little sign that says "Push the Button" and push the f--ing button. You can't imagine how this has mystified so many people! The gate will open, pause for a minute for you to drive through and will close automatically behind you.
